Perry started his career with Wimbledon, the team he supported as a boy. Perry moved to North London in 1999, joining Tottenham Hotspur. Perry became the team’s first choice defender in the 2001-02 season. After suffering a slipped disk and unable to gain his starting position back, Perry moved to Charlton Athletic in September 2003, where he featured frequently.
