Blackmore began his career at Manchester United in 1982, having progressed through the club’s youth ranks. Blackmore finally received a serious run in the side in 1987 when Alex Ferguson arrived. In 1990 he won the FA Cup and in 1991 he won European Cup Winners’ Cup with United.
