Anderton spent most of his career with Tottenham Hotspur, playing in midfield. He formed an exciting attacking trio alongside Teddy Sheringham and Nick Barmby. Anderton also became a regular for the England national team, scoring 7 goals in just 30 appearances for his country. He played an important role at Euro 96 when England reached the semi-finals - a performance no England team has matched at a major tournament since.
