Dermot Gallagher refereed his first game in the Premier League in August 1992, just five years after starting as a professional referee. He made the FIFA referees list in 1994 and refereed his first FA Cup final in 1996. Gallagher retired in May 2007, having refereed over 370 games in the Premier League.
