Michael Thomas is best remembered for scoring a last-minute goal in injury time during the final match of the 1988-89 season, which resulted in Arsenal winning the First Division title ahead of rivals Liverpool. Later in his career, Thomas went on to play for Liverpool appearing 124 times and scoring nine goals. Thomas retired in 2001.
