Robinson began his career at his local club, Watford. He played over 200 times for the club between 1996 and 2003, before moving to West Brom. The defender played 214 games at the midlands club, and was part of the squad that performed the 'Great Escape' in 2005. He was part of the 2008 PFA Championship Team of the Year, and secured promotion back to the Premier League in the same year.
