Nigel come through the ranks at Wimbledon and became captain after progressing to the first team. He made 64 appearances in all comeptitions before signing for West Ham in January 2004 whilst they were in the Championship. He quickly became an imperative member of Alan Pardew's squad and was made club captain. In his first season for the Hammers they reached the Play-Off Final but lost out to Crystal Palace. The next season they were back on the same stage, this time beating Preston 1-0 to gain promotion to the Premier League. Reo-Coker joined Aston VIlla for £8.5 million in 2007 and again was captain intermittently in the absence of Petrov. He joined Bolton in 2011 but departed at the culmination of the 2011-12 season which saw Bolton relegated.
