Claridge won the League Cup with Leicester in 1997 before moving to Portsmouth - his local boyhood team - in 1998. He enjoyed short spells at a number of Football League clubs around the UK, before progressing into management, and then media work with the BBC. At the end of his career, Claridge had played at every level of professional football in England.
