Daley made the vast majority of his appearances for Aston Villa, playing mainly as a winger. Daley was well known for his pace. Daley joined Villa as an apprentice and made his club debut at the age of seventeen. He played for Aston Villa for nine seasons and finished a runner-up in both the 1989-90 and 1993-93 seasons. Daley also played in the 1994 League Cup final when Aston Villa beat Manchester United.
